Could Natto Have Helped Japan With Covid?

I came across this abstract this morning and although it is a couple years old, it resonated with a different article I read recently about how Japan did quite well with their early infection rates. As a long time advocate for giving our body the tools it needs to thrive, I found this quite interesting as people in Japan consume loads of natto as a part of their everyday cuisine. I plan to revisit this blog if I come across more information on this subject. Obviously, there are other factors to consider, and this is insufficient to make any kind of conclusions on, it’s just an interesting correlation perhaps.

I am a huge fan of natto, as it is an abundant source of vitamin k which, for my entire life, I have shown symptoms of being deficient in, until I added natto to my diet. There are numerous other health benefits to the beany goodness that is natto!

I plan to do a few natto recipes soon, ones that may be appealing to those of us in the west, such as natto ice cream and natto cheesecake- both of which I will be making partially from memory from a restaurant I worked at about 13 years ago!
